Did you know that completing the US Census brings $3000 per person per year back to the community from the federal government? Over a 10-year period, that’s $30,000 per person, and in San Juan County with a 2018 population of 17,128 people, that’s $51,384,000 per year (or $513,840,000 over 10 years!) in federal funds to pay for education, health care, libraries, school lunches, infrastructure, and many more programs just in our county alone. San Juan County is severely undercounted when it comes to our Census numbers and is leaving these federal dollars on the table.
