Saturday – Sunday, December 8 – 9, Orcas Center
— from Lynn Baker for Orcas Choral Society —
Brighten your holidays December 8 and 9 at the Orcas Choral Society’s festive winter concert, “Making Spirits Bright!”
Artistic Director Marianne Lewis has assembled a holiday concert program rich with fresh, new treatment of traditional favorites, plus new songs to brighten the season.
“We’re having so much fun with these lovely, lively tunes, and we’re looking forward to sharing them with the Orcas community,” Lewis said. “They’re cheerful songs to warm all our hearts.”
An all-Orcas roster of instrumentalists adds to the joyful noise, including Karen Blinn on oboe, Tim Jensen on French Horn, Jim Shaffer-Bauck on percussion, Linda Slone on flute, Paris Wilson on violin, and Terri Triplett and Patty Johnson on piano. Paris and Tim are recent top award winners in regional high school music competitions in violin and horn respectively. If you haven’t heard them play, this is your chance.
“Making Spirits Bright” performs at the Orcas Center, Saturday, December 8 at 7:30 p.m., and again Sunday, December 9 at 2 p.m. Tickets are $15 for adults, $5 for students, available from the Orcas Center box office, at orcascenter.org/ or at www.orcaschoralsociety.org/.
See you there!
