Friends of Moran State Park wishes everyone a very happy new year.
On Sunday, January 1, 2017, Washington State Parks will not require the Discover Pass
to visit state parks. So, come out and join us for a hike around Cascade Lake. We’ll meet
up at the Day Use Area at 9:30 a.m. and will be back in time to observe or participate in the
Rowing Club’s annual Polar Bear Plunge at 11 a.m.
Upcoming 2017 State Parks Free Days:
- January 15 & 16 – Martin Luther King Jr. Day
- March 19 – Washington State Parks 103rd birthday
- April 15 – A springtime free Saturday
- April 22 – Earth Day
- June 3 – National Trails Day
- June 10 – National Get Outdoors Day
- August 25 – National Park Service 101st birthday
- September 30 – National Public Lands Day
- November 11 – Veterans Day
- November 24: Autumn Free Day
Please note, free days apply only to day use (not overnight stays or rented facilities), A Discover Pass will still be required on these days to access lands managed by the Washington State Department of Natural Resources and the Washington Department of Fish and Wildlife.
