The public is invited to celebrate good health and life at a Garden Party on the Summer Solstice, June 21, at 3 p.m.
The garden setting will be at the Coffelt’s Farm on Crow Valley Road. Directions: Take Orcas Road to the Crow Valley Road turnoff by Fowler’s Corner. Continue as if going to Westsound, and ontinue past Island Supply for one-half mile. Look left for an oval sign that says “Coffelt’s Farm”, and go up that driveway.
Event organizer Mary Ann Slabaugh says, “We decided, as cancer affects us all and everyone is a survivor of something in life,” to open the Garden Party to all. “The field is open to invite whomever would like to Celebrate Hope. [All] are welcome to bring celebrative expessions of self as in art, food , drinks, poetry and stories,” says Slabaugh.
“This is a garden party honoring you before our island’s Relay for Life for the American Cancer Society on July 10,” says event organizer Michael Mele. “We would love to see you amidst the flowers on Orcas in celebration of health and of hope.”
