Island Health hosts car and booster seat clinic
Safe Kids Northwest is hosting a free car seat clinic on Thursday, October 13 from 3–5 p.m. in the 24th Street parking lot of Island Health, Anacortes. Learn how to properly install and use your car or booster seat. Face masks are required (children under two exempt). Vehicles limited to four family members. There are a lot of us out here on the islands who have been unable to donate blood for two years now—first because of covid, but more recently because of the unreliability of the ferry system.
It would seem to me much more effective to bring the team to the islands like before, rather than task us to come individually to the mainland. Local pilots could transport donated plasma or whole blood back like before, the longstanding intra-island competition could resume, we’d all be happy to start our diets with the old adage ‘a pint’s a pound the world around’, and queuing up to donate is one line we don’t mind being in! We are ‘armed and ready’!
