Next Monday, March 8, at 12 noon, the public is invited to hear about the origins and impacts of critical area regulations with the League of Women Voters of the San Juans, meeting at the San Juan Library in Friday Harbor.
Shireene Hale of the Department of Community Development and Planning will speak about the Critical Areas Ordinance, which San Juan County is in the process of updating in order to comply with the Growth Management Act.
This program is an educational effort designed to increase public understanding of critical area issues. The Washington State League has extensively studied the Growth Management Act and supports its goals.
Questions from the audience will be welcomed. Everyone is encouraged to attend.
