Thursday, Sept. 8 at 5 p.m. at Orcas Island Community Church

The Cancer Survivorship Group wants everyone to remember that together we can fan the flames of hope. The research shows that an individual’s outcomes are better with supportive persons/families and groups providing encouragement.
We are a faith-based support group that is open to believers, nonbelievers and everyone in between. Our goal is to serve by providing group support and encouragement, as well as a safe place to explore feelings and issues that face persons and families dealing with cancer and its treatment.
After over six years, we have found that cancer survivors have ongoing issues but also have something to share with others. We encourage that. We want you feeling better when you leave than when you arrived at the meeting. Our focus is celebrating your victories, small and large, and listening to your stories and concerns. We all want to be overcomers in this life and to be able to give and receive love and support.
Our support group has room at the table for care providers and other helpers in this process for peace, hope, faith and life. Won’t you join us on Thursday, September 8th? We will meet in the Fireside Room at Orcas Island Community Church at 5 p.m. For more information feel free to call Bogdan or Carol at 376-4198.

I’m a youngish breast cancer survivor and I would love to attend. Thanks for posting this!
