Sunday, June 14, 4 p.m., Orcas Christian School Playground
— from Kim Ihlenfeldt —
Are you raising or deeply involved with the care of someone else’s child?
It is well known that raising children comes with its challenges; but raising someone else’s child comes with a unique set of struggles of its own, and it is becoming increasingly common. Over 35,000 people in Washington State are currently caring for a relative’s child. This number is large, and it does not include those children being cared for by fictive kin or foster parents.
Join us for a meet and greet on Sunday, June 14th at 4 p.m. on the OCS Playground, located at 107 Enchanted Forest Road in Eastsound for the opportunity to meet other members of our community who share similar experiences. This will be an informal and child-appropriate event. Children are encouraged to attend.
For more information contact Kim Ihlenfeldt at (360) 298-4465.
