Orcas Center’s Visual Arts Committee is now accepting applications for Featured Artists for the upcoming season. Selected artists will have the opportunity to showcase their work in the Center’s lobby gallery, participate in an opening reception, and benefit from Orcas Center’s promotional outreach through press releases, newsletters, and social media.
Applicants are asked to submit a digital portfolio (3 – 5 images), an artistic résumé, and/or an artist statement to VAC@OrcasCenter.org. Exhibits typically run four to six weeks, and artists are expected to attend their opening reception, provide promotional materials at least six weeks prior to installation, and transport their own work. At least 80% of the artwork should be available for sale, with commissions benefiting both the artist and Orcas Center.
The deadline for submissions is September 30th, with notifications sent out later this year. This is a unique opportunity for visual artists to gain visibility, engage with island audiences, and highlight their artistic vision in a welcoming community setting.
