Island Scenes: A Celebration of Place – Exhibit at the County Fair

In San Juan County we see historic rural and small town views becoming suburban. The Island Scenes project is an effort to record images of what is here now which represent “old Island” and what we hope will be here in the future.

Artists of all ages who live in the San Juan Islands are asked to portray a scene which strikes them as “old island.” One image per person, any two dimensional medium – photography, oil, pastel, finger painting, watercolor, acrylic, etc. and matted or framed outside dimensions: minimum 8″ x 10″ to maximum 16″ x 20″. Ready to hang. No jurying, no prizes.

Deadline: Monday, July 15, to reserve a place. Contact Peter Fromm at 378-8378, or Emily Reed Geyman at 378-2750 or via email. Artwork is not needed until August 13 when the display will be set up at the fair.
