Tickets are selling at a brisk pace for the always popular Orcas Island Chamber Music Festival, Aug. 18-29.
From Mendelssohn to Mark O’Connor, the 12th Annual Festival has something dazzling for every music lover.
The Festival celebrates the bicentennial of Mendelssohn with some of his most beloved works.
A unique musical thread will also be found in Gabriel Kahane, this year’s Composer-in-Residence.
Grammy-winning violinist Mark O’Connor, the Nashville sensation who has recorded with everyone from James Taylor to Yo-Yo Ma, will present a rarely heard solo violin recital.
Exciting cellist Alisa Weilerstein makes her Orcas debut with a demanding solo performance.
Following their success last year, the dynamic Miró Quartet, one of the world’s great string quartets, will perform Mozart, Mendelssohn and Dvorak in a special two-night concert.
