Do You Twitter?
Orcas Island Chamber of Commerce Executive Director will help you tweet, flicker and otherwise interface with the new social networking websites at anohtter Chamber “Business Essentials” class.
Evans says, “You have your website up, but is that enough to bring attention to your business or organization? What about all those new terms and sites – Web 2.0 … Social Media Marketing … YouTube … Flickr … Facebook … Twitter … MySpace … What are you supposed to do? Are they worth it? How do I get started?”
‘Internet Marketing for Small Business’ will be presented by Evans, with assistance from other web-savvy members to explore the many ways businesses and organizations can market themselves (often for free) on the internet.
The workshop will cover such current topics as: Twitter, Facebook, blogs, website optimization and analytics, Google Adwords, and much more. Handouts will provide everyone with the information they need to improve their current marketing campaign. Attendees are encouraged to come loaded with questions for an informative Q and A session at the end of the presentation.
The workshop will be held May 5, 2009 at the Eastsound Fire Station’s meeting room. Coffee and Tea service at 7:45 am; the Workshop runs from 8:00 am – 9:15 am. RSVP’s are requested. Contact the Chamber at (360) 376-2273 for sign-up information. A workshop donation for materials of $5 is requested from Chamber members; non-Chamber members are invited to attend for only $15.
