On January 3 at approximately 4:15 p.m., members of the Shaw Island Emergency Medical Service and Fire Department responded to a reported aircraft incident at the island’s airport.

Details available indicate a single engine aircraft with one male on board was involved in an unknown type incident during landing.

The sole occupant of the aircraft is being airlifted to St. Joseph’s Hospital in Bellingham by Airlift Northwest with undetermined injuries.

As information is received, updates will be released. The investigation continues.
