Jazz/Samba percussionist Jeff Busch brings Brazilian song and dance to Orcas Center on Oct. 8

By Steve Alboucq

Saturday, Oct. 8 from 2 until 4 p.m. at Orcas Center

Jeff Busch, the very talented and accomplished Seattle percussionist, will conduct a two-hour samba workshop for music lovers of all ages and experience. The suggested fee for participation is $10 at the Orcas Center Main Stage.

Don’t miss this opportunity to get a taste of Brazilian Carnival right here on Orcas Island. As a participant you will be invited to be part of a drum group and learn to play traditional drum rhythms and sing an authentic samba song.

Jeff will provide hands-on demonstrations of how to play Brazilian samba drums and hand percussion.  Bring your own drums if you have them. We’ll have some available for those who don’t.

Jeff Busch is on Orcas Island this coming weekend as performer with the Orcas Horns. He is joining the rhythm section for the shows on Friday and Saturday nights at the Orcas Center. Members of the Orcas Horns will be on hand at the workshop and will join in the music making. For more info on Jeff:  www.jeffbusch.net
