— from Bill Watson, San Juan County Councilmember, District #1 —
I am announcing today that I will retire at the end of 2020 and not seek re-election for a second term as County Councilmember for District #1 in November of 2020. In the final year of my term, I will continue to do my best to serve the citizens of San Juan County.
The timing of my announcement is intended to give those who may have an interest in seeking office sufficient time to consider carefully the position. I am open to sharing my insights and experiences with anyone who is considering running.

Thank You for your service Bill, I hope this your final year is rewarding for you.
Thank you for your service, Bill. In particular I want to thank you for your work as the liaison to the Agricultural Resources Committee. As the Chair of the ARC for over a year prior to you becoming the liaison, and then also for the majority of your term, I have appreciated your consistency in coming to our meetings as well as your advocacy for the issues important to the Ag community. So often it is just showing up and listening that makes all the difference.
