Bogdan Kulminski will lead a “Bible Basics” class on Thursday evenings, beginning this Thursday, Oct. 13.
The class is described as “a study to help you understand Bible basics, translation issues, interpretation and application of the scriptures for your own edification and spiritual growth.
“The goal of this study is to answer questions on “how” and “why” you do a Bible study for yourself and how to encourage others in their study of God’s word. Before Guttenberg’s invention of printing and before the Bible was translated in printed in popular languages, it was difficult for the ordinary person to read and understand the Bible for themselves.
“Now we can be inundated with Bible messages and information, but how can you or I read the Old or New Testaments and understand the meaning of the Text and feel the joy of God’s inspiration speaking to us and guiding our lives?”
The class will be held from 7 to 8:30 p.m. at the Blue Heron B&B in West Sound. It will use the following resources:
- Rick Warren’s Bible Study Methods,
- Twelve Ways You Can Unlock God’s Word and Everything You Want To Know About The Bible. Well…Enough To Get You Started by Peter Downey and Ben Shaw.
This class is sponsored by the Lighthouse Christian Center that meets each Sunday at the Senior Center. Please call or e-mail to reserve a seat as space is limited; bkulminski@centurylink.net or e 360-376-4198.
