Come and meet those dancing feet! One of Broadway’s most classic and beloved tales, 42nd Street comes to Orcas Center’s screen on Saturday, March 7 in the largest-ever production of the breathtaking musical.

This eye-watering extravaganza is full of crowd-pleasing tap dances, popular musical theatre standards (“Lullaby of Broadway,” “We’re in the Money” (the gold digger’s song), “42nd Street” and more, and show-stopping ensemble production numbers as it follows the story of aspiring chorus girl Peggy Sawyer who comes to the big city and soon lands her first job in the ensemble of a glitzy new Broadway show. Mayhem and mirth ensue when just before opening night the leading lady breaks her ankle. Will Peggy be able to step in and become a star?

Filmed in 2018 at London’s Theatre Royal, the production is directed by the original author of the show, Mark Bramble and screens at Orcas Center courtesy of ByExperience and BroadwayHD. For BroadwayHD founders Stewart F. Lane and Bonnie Comley, Tony Award-winning producers and acclaimed filmmakers in their own right, capturing this production of 42nd Street was not just a special experience, but also showcases their mission to present the stage on screen in a whole new way.

“42nd Street was a groundbreaking production that made Broadway accessible and appealing to the masses, making it especially fitting for capture by BroadwayHD, where our mission is to make live theater accessible and affordable to fans across the globe,” said Lane. “With close detail paid to every element of this iconic show in filming and editing, viewers will feel that they are sitting in the hottest seat in the house.”

42nd Street screens at Orcas Center on Saturday, March 7 at 7 p.m. Tickets range from $15-$47 and are available at www.OrcasCenter.org.
