Turn your your love of the islands into service! WSU Beach Watchers is recruiting for the 2011 season.  March 25-May 13.

Beach Watchers Program is a watershed-to-marine stewardship education program offered by WSU Extension- San Juan County. It is modeled after the highly successful WSU Master Gardener Volunteer Program format.

Beach Watcher volunteers receive 100 hours of training from Washington State University in the physical, biological, and cultural aspects of marine steward ship. In return trained Beach Watchers provide 100 hours of volunteer service back to the community through education, research and stewardship.

Days will will include some weekdays (alternating between Mondays, Wednesdays and Saturdays). This is a great way to see the beauty and special places of many of our islands! You will receive a first class education and then have an opportunity to give back to your community with service.
