Learn how to save even in tight times, get creative with resources and fine tune your dollars to benefit your family. A class in “Basic Budgeting for Families” will be offered this Tuesday, Oct. 13, from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. at the Orcas Senior Center.
Dinner and childcare will be provided.
Topics addressed to help families in tight economic times will include:
- Who makes a budget?
- Why make a budget?
- How do you make a budget?
- Local resources to assist families through the challenging times.
Attendees are asked to prepare a record of regular expenses and monthly bills.
The class is sponsored by Orcas Family Connections, Orcas Island Prevention Partnership, OPAL and Early Childhood Education and Assistance Program (ECEAP) with funding by United Way. A similar class for English Language Learners will be held on Tuesday, Oct. 20.
