Monday, July 16, 7 p.m., The Whale Museum

— from Jenny L. Atkinson for The Whale Museum —

Join Bainbridge Island author Rebecca Pillsbury on Monday, July 16 at 7 p.m. at The Whale Museum in Friday Harbor, as she discusses her latest book, Guided by Whales. Written as a story compilation, the book is an exploration of career paths and passion projects undertaken by people who saw a whale and were never again the same.

Hear the stories of artists, activists, authors, filmmakers, marine biologists, naturalists, nonprofit administrators, and more who have dedicated their lives to advocating for cetaceans. Their inspirational stories segue into messages of conservation, education, and Native wisdom. Collectively, they aim to inspire action on behalf of these magnificent beings.

Rebecca is a certified marine naturalist, award-winning memoirist, and lover of all animals from land and sea (but especially partial to those weighing over 400 pounds). Through her publishing company, Duende Press, she helps business leaders, adventure travelers, celebrities, and others tell their transformational stories.

This author series is free and open to the public. For more information, call (360) 378-4710 ext. 30 or email info@whalemuseum.org. The Whale Museum is located in Friday Harbor at 62 First St. N, 98250. Visit online www.whalemuseum.org.
