From the Orcas Center
On May 9, 2013 the curtain will go up at Orcas Center for a community production of the classical musical, Oliver! Known around the world as the greatest musical ever written for child actors, Orcas Center is excited about providing a new generation of children this opportunity to shine on stage!
Orcas Center will be holding auditions on Center Stage in December 2012 and January 2013:
The first auditions will be Sunday, December 16 – 10:00 to 12:00, Monday, 12/17, and Tuesday, 12/18 – 3:30 to 5:00 and 6:00 to 7:30pm.
The call is for the following characters:
Oliver – age 10 to 12, singer/actor
Artful Dodger – age 10 to 13, singer/actor
Mr. Bumble – adult, singer/actor
Widow Corney – adult, singer/actor
Bet – ages 14 to 35, female singer/actor
Nancy – ages 18 to 40, singer/actor
Bill Sykes – adult, singer/actor (the villain)
Noah Claypole – age 17 to 20, non-singer, if can sing will be in chorus also
Charlotte – age 13 to 18 teen, non-singer, if can sing will be in chorus
also
Mr. Sowerberry – adult, singer/actor (slimey person)
Mrs. Sowerberry – adult, singer/actor (mean person)
Mrs. Bedwin – adult, non-singer, if can sing will be in chorus
AND
Fagin’s band of thieves (6) – ages 8 to 15
A second call for auditions with be in January, 2013. These auditions will be for minor non-singing character parts, chorus and villagers of all ages.
There will be a sign up sheet for the three days for people to reserve audition times
