From the County Auditor’ Elections office
The Elections office has learned that some return ballot envelopes addressed to Asotin County may have been mixed in with San Juan County return envelopes in a shipment received from the printer. A voter on Orcas alerted us that he had received an Asotin envelope in his San Juan County ballot packet. A replacement envelope has been mailed to that voter.
Please check your envelope before mailing to be sure it is addressed to San Juan County. If you do find an incorrect envelope, you have three choices.
You may call (360-378-3357) and request a replacement envelope.
You may change the address on the envelope you have (the correct address is PO Box 638, Friday Harbor, WA, 98250).
Or you can drop the envelope into a ballot drop box and not worry about the address. Ballot drop boxes are located in front of the County Courthouse in Friday Harbor, at the Orcas Senior Center, and at the Lopez Fire Station in the Village.
If you have already mailed your ballot, no need to worry. We have contacted Asotin County, and they will forward any wayward envelopes to San Juan County. The postmark determines whether your vote counts, so the delay in delivery will not compromise your vote.
