— from Orcas Artsmith

Spend three days at the cusp of spring, and enjoy an infusion of new craft techniques from the hilarious and talented poet, essayist, and self-described Buddhist Boy (from his memoir, Talk Thai: The Adventures of Buddhist Boy) Ira Sukrungruang. The workshop is open to all genres and takes place the weekend of February 27 to March 1, 2015 on beautiful Orcas Island.

The Artsmith residency program has expanded in two exciting ways. First, the annual, one-week residency on Orcas Island will now be offered for up to four weeks for artists, writers, naturalists, and scholars to spend in the creation of new works.

Second, in December of 2015, Artsmith will lead a 3-night cultural intensive residency for culture and/or travel writers to be immersed in the rich history of the Spanish colonial city of Laredo, Texas.
