Dinner Dance Fund Raiser for Orcas Family Health Center – Dr. Shinstrom’s office, 7 p.m. at Orcas Center. $25.00 per person – complete vegetarian or meat lasagna meal, salad, bread, beverage and dessert. Cash wine bar opens at 6:30 pm. Music by the Orcatrazz Swing Band. Listeners and Dancers welcome. All proceeds benefit those in our community who have no health insurance, or who are under-insured. Live Music with Tracy Spring and TR Ritchie at the Doe Bay Cafe. Bellingham’s Tracy Spring and TR Ritchie melt elements of blues, swing, old R&B, jazz, and folk into their own style. This show is free but seating is limited! Make your dinner reservations by calling 360.376.8059!

A clinic for potential “Dream Act” children (Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals) will be held on from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the San Juan Middle School in Friday Harbor ( 85 Blair Avenue) by the American Immigration Lawyers Association, Northwest Immigrant Rights Project, the Skagit Immigrant Rights Project and a number of other immigrant rights groups and lawyers. American Legion Auxiliary Annual Holiday Bazaar, 10 am – 3 pm American Legion. Local vendors and the auxiliary bake sale and soup bistro. Winners of a basket raffle will be announced at 3 p.m.

Artisan’s Faire – 10 am – 5 pm, Odd Fellows — More than 40 island artisans will be displaying their wares. Free raffle tickets for gift baskets with every purchase. Food will be served downstairs. Call 376-4219 or email eliza@islandthyme.com.

Friends of the Library Holiday Tea from 1 to 4 p.m. Refreshments, music, supervised crafts for children — and Santa and Mrs. Claus too. The public is welcome, 376-4985.

Magic Flute reception and performance at Orcas Center — Puppets and Wearable Art reception from 4:30 – 6:30 p.m. precedes the performance, and a variety of interactive activities will set the mood for the opera, including. story-telling, puppet making, music and snacks all in keeping with the themes The Magic Flute. At 6:30 the opera streams live in high definition from the New York Metropolitan Opera stage. Note the earlier “start” time in order to make it easier for families with kids to attend!

“Bees and Bee Packages” the new Orcas Bee Club brings Mike Radford (Alaska Bee Products) to the Orcas Library at 1 p.m. .

The Orcas Island Historical Museum Annual Meeting, 2:30 p.m. at Camp Orkila. A shuttle van is available from the upper parking lot. The Museum Board welcomes all members of the public to this gathering which will include door prizes, awards, the big quilt raffle drawing and other special presentations. 376-4849

Local Artist Showcase  on the  OffCenter Stage of Orcas Center  at 7: 30 pm. Come and listen to the talent of Corey Wiscomb and Robb Eagle, Bridget O’Toole, Madi Jane West and Grace McCune’s Rock on the Rock Adult Singers.
