Saturday & Sunday, Dec. 7 & 8, 10 a.m. – 5 p.m., Odd Fellows Hall:

The Orcas Island Artisan Faire returns for its 24th year! The fair will be held at the Odd Fellow’s Hall in Eastsound on Saturday December 7th and Sunday December 8th. The fair hours are 10:00 am to 5:00 pm on Saturday and 11:00 am to 4:00 pm on Sunday.

A bit of history on the Artisans Faire…the fair was originally started by a group of Orcas Farmers Market craft vendors who were looking for a venue to sell their wares during the holiday season. It has always been held at the Oddfellows Hall, and organized by a handful of dedicated volunteers. After expenses are covered, there is usually a bit of money left over. The organizers donate that money to a local charity each year. This year, they are happy to lend a bit of help to the Artworks Cooperative. The Artworks is still recovering from the losses that occurred after a fire this past July.

This year’s fair promises to be the best yet! Many local artisans will be displaying their wonderful art, crafts and food items to holiday shoppers looking for unique gifts. If you get hungry while shopping, there will be food served downstairs by Charles Dalton and his team from “The Kitchen.” On Saturday the fair will receive a special visit from Santa and Mrs. Claus at around 12:30 pm. All fair purchases earn free raffle tickets for gift basket drawings at the end of the fair. You need not be present to win.

For many islanders, this fair is a highlight of the holiday season. It happens for one weekend only, so don’t miss it!
