Joe Floren art

Joe Floren displays some of his photography, which will be offered as part of the annual Granny's Attic Sale at the Orcas Island Senior Center on April 28.

Joe Floren, photographer and painter,  is one of several artists who are offering their best work to benefit the Orcas Island Senior Center.

Joe’s photographs will be for sale at the annual fundraiser on Saturday, April 28, along with other artists’ donations and recycled treasures from many an island home.

Volunteers welcome donations on Tuesdays at the Senior Center, between 11 a.m. and 3 p.m. that they will sort and price and designate for Granny’s Attic and Granpa’s Workshop.

The Senior Center Advisory Committee notes that it will take “most all donations except clothing and computers and appliances and small pieces of furniture that are in good condition.”

So start looking at your piles of collected valuables and considering passing them on to other islanders. This annual fundraiser provides maintenance funds for the Senior Center wings of the County building. For questions,  call the Senior Center at 376-2677.
