In recognition of Poetry Month, and to celebrate our treasure trove of Orcas Island poets, Orcas Issues is pleased and honored to offer daily poetry during April.
THE TROUBLE WITH WORDS
— by JoEllen Moldoff —
is that they aren’t furniture
you can just move around
to create a different feeling
in the room. Words are the room
and the bridge
across a river outside the room.
Words are the rungs on a ladder
you are trying to climb this evening
to peek into the second story window
where curtains are flapping
and voices are grazing on each other.
