In recognition of Poetry Month, and to celebrate our treasure trove of Orcas Island poets, Orcas Issues is pleased and honored to offer daily poetry during April.
RETRIEVAL
— by Monica Kezar —
Retrieving information
from the labyrinth
of the hippocampus
leads to that carsick
feeling of being lost
in a chaotic tangle
with no signs
saying, enter, detour,
or stop. The speed
limit of retrieval
dictated by a primitive
response to DNA
mutated by age
and time.
