LIFE VIOLINS
— by Carla Stanley —
When it falls in to pills
alcohol calls the shots…..fisted to walls
minds break twisted
spiral in outward
vials leap alive
contrived reality so dead
screams bloody the ears…..hearing the yard
whimper cornered for children hurt…..playing family
hollow cheek home…..lllove noxious soul buried in the face of
overflowing litter boxes
bone Cheerio brittle
colored drawing innocent
push pins pulling…..crepe paper sobs
from ceilings tired of holding up bad behavior
savor fog cool blanket…..wrapping argument heat
lay around the feet
a shadow dog what will come night by
slow spin the box…..pad down the moan
curl up
comfort
and
must.

Holy cow, Carla, you have outdone your quirky self…love it.
Stunning
The raw, dare I say brutal, truth expressed in this poem had me reading it again and again.
i’m dumbstruck – this is so amazing. thank you.
