What The Leaves Say
— JoEllen Moldoff —
The leaves are in conversation
this morning as always,
discussing how foolish we are
to run from place to place
as if we expect to find
something we are missing.
How much better to stay in one place
to wait for something to appear.
Look at us, they say,
resting here patiently,
telling our stories,
breathing the air as you do,
leafing out, letting go.
