||| FROM CARRIE KING for DAKOTA CREEK INDUSTRIES |||

Dakota Creek Industries is very proud to publish our first Apprentice Program Application for the July 2022-July 2023 session.

Dakota Creek Industries will be apprenticing four trades:  Machinery Assembler, Marine Electrician, Production Welder, and Shipfitter/Fabricator.

The Dakota Creek Industries, Inc. Apprenticeship Program* is a formalized, structured three-year training program. It combines on-the-job training (OTJ) and related supplemental instruction (RSI) in which apprentices receive practical, classroom and technical training. Essential skills taught to a DCI apprentice result in industry-driven career training that meets or exceeds industry standards.

Each apprenticeship requires 2,000 hours of on-the-job training (paid) for each of the three years to complete. The on-the-job training portion of the program is broken down into skill areas with a set number of hours for each skill area. The DCI apprenticeship program also has structured formal classroom training. Each of the three years of apprenticeship also requires 216 hours of apprenticeship per year of related classroom training (unpaid).

Upon program completion, apprentices will become journey level trade persons with certification that is recognized internationally, as well as receive a Multi Occupational Trades Associates Degree from Skagit Valley College.
