From the San Juan Islands Visitors Bureau

All are invited to The Outlook Inn in Eastsound on Wednesday, May 9 from 12:30 p.m. to 2:30 p.m. for the annual spring membership luncheon meeting of the San Juan Islands Visitors Bureau (SJIVB). Hear updates on current marketing and media relations programs, as well as the bureau’s new website.  The cost is $15 per person for lunch (cash or checks only) and space is limited. Please reserve by calling 378-3277, ext. 5 or emailing Deborah Hopkins Buchanan at deborah@visitsanjuans.com.

This year’s event also celebrates National Travel and Tourism Week, May 5-13. A new local feature, being promoted by the SJIVB and the San Juan Island Chamber of Commerce, is a “Paid for with Tourism Dollars” stamp to indicate on a business check its support for tourism contributions to the local economy. Orders for the stamps will be taken at the meeting.

The San Juan Islands Visitors Bureau, representing 360 member businesses and organizations, is a non-profit, economic development agency contracted for responsible tourism management and competitive marketing of the San Juan Islands as a year-round travel destination. Visitor spending directly benefits community theaters, historical museums, county parks and local businesses.
