The Orcas Island Education Foundation (OIEF) hopes you will attend its annual “Food for Thought” fundraiser on Saturday, June 2. This is it. OIEF’s shot at raising enough funds to support a myriad of programs in the public schools. Not only is it important – it is a whole lot of fun. This year’s theme is “Oh, the Places You’ll Go!” A reveal at the event will tell you about how this theme ties into a new initiative OIEF is hoping to launch in the fall.

In this past school year, OIEF has supported: scholarships for graduating seniors, High School theater class, Middle School Theater Exploratory, K-8 Farm to Cafeteria, High School Debate Club, K-8 Art for Orcas Kids (”AOK”), 6th Grade trip to Nature Bridge, a human torso model for HS Science, a weather station in the Elementary, a HS Computer Class, science curriculum in the Elementary, equipment for HS Physics, Applied Physics for 4th/5th Grades, AP Computer Science, and so much more.

OIEF cannot bring these programs to the schools without your support. And most of the funds for the year come from “Food for Thought.” The event will be Saturday, June 2 at Four Winds Camp. Festivities begin at 5:30. There will be food, libations, and an auction. Tickets are $100/pp and can be purchased at the Chamber of Commerce or online at: oief.org.

Please consider attending – and for our public school students, just watch the places they will go.
