Voyle B. Martin American Legion Post #93 will hold their annual Turkey Shoot (BINGO for turkeys) on Sunday, November 10, at 11 a.m. at their post home, located at 793 Crescent Beach Drive. Many years ago they actually shot turkeys; thus, the name Turkey Shoot.

Now you play bingo to win a turkey. This event has always been a favorite because the public is invited, including the children.

The net proceeds help fund the many veteran and community projects the post has each year.

In conjunction with the Turkey Shoot, the American Legion auxiliary prepares a turkey dinner with all the “fixing’s” and start serving at 11:30 a.m. Adults $10, Seniors/Children $7. Slices of delicious homemade pies are $1 a piece.

The auxiliary donates to several veterans’ facilities each year, especially at holiday time. Net proceeds from the dinner help fund those donations.

Veterans’ Day Service

The American Legion will honor our veterans with a Veterans’ Day Service on Monday, November 11, at 11 a.m. (11/11 at 11) at the post home, located at 793 Crescent Beach Dr. The public is invited to share in this service. The Sons of the American Legion (SAL unit) will serve refreshments immediately following the service.
