The Cancer Support Group welcomes back Dawn Alger from Friday Harbor’s Peace Health Hospital and Geoff Weatherbie from the American Cancer Society to talk about the Relay for Life. This year the theme is “Islands of Hope.” The actual relay will be held on September 26th at the fairgrounds, from 12 to 9. They are hoping with new hours, it will allow for more Orcas folks to join them.
There will be a Survivor’s catered reception at 12:00 followed with the Survivor’s lap kick-off. There will be live music, food, entertainment, games, auctions, and more. You need not be part of a team. Survivors can register at no charge and we will have their participant t-shirt waiting for them upon arrival.
Participants from Orcas last year had a great time and highly recommend anyone touched by cancer to attend this year.
