The Actors Theater of Orcas Island (ATOI) announces six upcoming performances of John Cariani’s Almost Maine, directed by Melinda Milligan.
Almost, Maine is a remote little town somewhere in northern Maine. Here, if you don’t know someone, you do know someone who does. Sound familiar?
The Actor’s Theater of Orcas Island holiday show, Almost, Maine, is a tale of what goes on in a small town one midwinter night when the Northern Lights appear, having surprising and magical effects on its residents.
Love appears, slumbers, blooms and ignites.
Nineeen Orcas actors make up the Almost cast, as they play ordinary, hardworking, honest, and true people who speak from the heart. The cast includes: Aaimee Johnson, Akarya, Audra Goffeney, Brian Richard, Cara Russell, Freddy Hinkle, Kelly Toombs, Katie Zwilling, Kevin Doyle, Kira Bradshaw, Lauren Ferrell, Mike Buckner, Rebecca Herman, Ron Herman, Sky Bear Aguilar, Suzanne Gropper, Tom Fiscus, Tom Gossett, and Tony Lee.
One reviewer has called the play “a cross between “Our Town” and “The Twilight Zone.”
Almost Maine opens on Friday, December 6 and with six performances Friday, Saturday, Sunday for two weekends, closing on Sunday, December 15.
This play is suitable for all ages. Tickets are $10 and are available at Darvills Bookstore, on-line, or at the door.
