Two recent contradictory events are sweeping across computer screens. One is beautiful, the other horrifying. They both are an accurate reflection of our current life in America. And that hurts mightily.
The ongoing Walk for Peace from Texas to Washington, D.C., by Buddhist monks pulls peaceful tears, while the recent murders of Renee Good and Alex Pretti, feel as though they are being pulled from the depth of my being.
How can they both be true?

If each of us took one step toward humanizing the world we live in .. well, if enough of us took say two or three steps …
The juxtaposition of these two current situations seems to exemplify the tension that exists within us as human beings. Each of us has a choice to make, either consciously or unconsciously.
Everything, everywhere, all at once. Seems to me the Buddhist monks, in their Walk for Peace, and the tremendous positive response they’ve gotten, pose a question for each of us about how we deal with that other thing. Thank you for restating the question, Lin.
