“Across the Universe” with Beatles’ music at the Orcas Center. Sold out, but now you can buy tickets for the Live Streaming in the Madrona Room

All tickets to “Across the Universe-A Celebration in Concert” in the Center Stage theater remain sold out for the Friday and Saturday performances on May 15 – 16. But…you can still come and see the show! Orcas Center will be capturing a live feed of the theatrics on Center Stage and displaying it on its screen in real time in the Madrona Room on both nights of the final weekend of the show.

Tickets for the live feed are $10 apiece, and will be available for purchase in the Orcas Center Box Office and online via Orcas Center’s website as of Wednesday, May 13. Show up at the same time as if you were to see the show in the Center Stage theater, enjoy a drink from Orcas Center’s cash bar, and mingle with your friends and community. Then, before the show starts Orcas Center will open its doors to the Madrona Room and usher in all live feed ticket holders. From your seat in the Madrona Room you will see all of the action captured from Center Stage…on screen. Don’t delay! Buy your tickets as early as Wednesday, May 15, for this sold out production.

From the creative team of Grace McCune and Jake Perrine,”Across the Universe-A Celebration in Concert” is a benefit for Orcas Center featuring the music of The Beatles and an all-star local community cast of over 100 island performers from 60 to 90+ years of age. There are two performances remaining: May 15 & 16 at 7:30 pm.

Following up on the sold-out success of last year’s Evening at the Moulin Rouge benefit concert, Grace’s Rock on the Rock Choir takes to the stage once again to dazzle, and make you sing. This year’s ensemble includes Val Hellar and Jake’s Theatre Arts high school drama class (sponsored by OIEF), a solo aerial performance by Maria Bullock, the choreography of Kara O’Toole and Laura Ludwig, and a live band of local luminaries including Jim Bredouw, Martin Lund, Lek Thixton, Steve Albouc, and Oliver Groenewald.

Orcas Center’s Executive/Artistic Director, Kara O’Toole says “Grace McCune and Jake Perrine are a creative team that always inspires. The Orcas community comes out in droves for their shows. Locals will be hard pressed not to recognize someone on stage with a cast of over 100 performers. “Across the Universe – A Celebration in Concert” is at its heart a benefit for Orcas Center, a performance that celebrates the intrinsic value of Orcas Center and the arts to the island. And fortunately, due to generous sponsor support, we are able to keep ticket prices affordable at $15 for adults and $5 for kids. This year’s extravaganza is different in size from last year’s Evening at the Moulin Rouge: there are 2 more shows for a total of 4 performances, 30 more performers for a total of over 100, 10 dances, 29 Beatles songs, 13 musicians playing live, and 1 aerialist.

Tickets for “Across the Universe, A Celebration Concert” may be purchased at www.orcascenter.org or by calling 376-2281 ext. 1 or visiting the Orcas Center Box Office open Wednesdays, Thursdays and Fridays from noon – 2 pm.
Center Stage: $15, $5 for students
Live Feed in the Madrona Room: $10
