Kicking off Orcas Center’s holiday offerings this November 21-23 is The Roasted Nut Too – an original dance performance by The Island Inspiration All-Stars sure to bring festive light to these ever-colder nights.
The Roasted Nut Too is the second iteration of a majestic musical odyssey, taking place in the Clockwork Castle Doll House. The Handman is up to his old tricks – and the Masquerade begins when a stranger attempts to reset the old clock. The dolls spring to life in a joyous Holiday spirited celebration amongst the castle inhabitants. It’s a family friendly party that hardly
ends!
The Island Inspiration All-Stars is the premier dance company on the island and draws its inspiration from island living. Anthony The Dancer says, “The San Juans are the most beautiful places on earth, with genuinely good people. It’s a good ‘get away’ that’s not too far away.”
Anthony teaches 33 forms of dance (orcas.dance) and has incorporated nearly half of those styles into this particular performance. The result is nothing short of divine athleticism with a splash of holiday spirit!
Joining the All-Stars on stage are The Shooting Stars led by Tiffany Loney. “Tiffany is absolutely incredible,” praises Anthony, “It’s amazing to see her draw such expressive movement and feeling out of the children.” Also joining in the fun are Aerial Acrobats Sadie Rose and Shawn Y. of Vashon Island. The production team includes Dane Steck who created the elaborate set, Melanie Trygg on costuming and fabrication, and Jake Perrine as audio and sound designer.
The Roasted Nut Too will run for four shows: November 21-23 at 7 p.m., with a special 2 p.m. performance on Saturday, November 23. Tickets are $15, $25, $47 at www.OrcasCenter.org.
