cheflogoApril 8 Deadline!

— by Ashley Randall —

The K-12 Student Chef Competition organized by the Orcas Island Farm to Cafeteria Program will be held this year on Saturday May 14. It is one of the most unique and exciting F2C events of the year! We dedicate an entire day to supporting our Island youth who love experiencing the joy of cooking. This event has not taken place since 2013, so we expect this year to be highly anticipated by students, parents and Orcas community members.

It’s time for all public school elementary, middle school and high school students wishing to compete this year to submit their recipes! The deadline to submit entries is April 8. The theme is “One Pot Meals” and, as usual, the inclusion of local ingredients is required.

Guidelines for submitting entries may be downloaded from the Farm to Cafeteria website at www.orcasislandf2c.org “Student Chef Competition” page, or contact Ashley Randall at arandall@orcas.k12.wa.us

The competition will be held in the new Culinary Arts Room at the public school on Saturday, May 14 from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. and the entire community is invited to come watch throughout the day for free. The competitors will be judged by a panel of five judges selected from the school and community at large.
