Sunday, October 21, 1 – 3 p.m., Outlook Inn

— from Madeline Sheplor for Friends of the Orcas Library —

The Friends of the Orcas Library will hold their annual meeting on Sunday October 21 at the Outlook Inn. At the annual meeting we will be electing new members to the Board of Directors. All current members are eligible and encouraged to vote. In addition, we will pass on reports of the last fiscal year including results from fundraising events, as well as thank the community for its continued support in volunteering, attending fundraising activities, and membership in the non-profit organization. Members of the community are invited to join this free event.

The topic of the guest speaker, Bob Dash, is On An Acre Shy of Eternity–and Beyond. Bob will present slides and dialog about his book On An Acre Shy of Eternity: Micro Landscapes at the Edge. Dash, a photographer, local teacher and environmental artist, portrays the phenomenally small elements of life. Dash’s work has attracted international attention for his intricate photographs of microscopic life.

The Friends Annual Meeting will be held on Sunday October 21, from 1 to 3 p.m. at the Outlook Inn, 171 Main St, Eastsound.

The Friends of the Orcas Island Public Library is a volunteer nonprofit charitable organization.
