This all sounds routine and boring, but one of the issues deals with vastly changing the accessibility of events at the Odd Fellows Hall – by prohibiting parking on either side of the street and putting in a sidewalk. Think I’ll go and see what the rationale for that is. Fire House. 3:00 tomorrow.
Before I attended the meeting last Thurs I was somewhat misinformed about the details of the design plan proposed for the street down to the Odd Fellows Hall. I have to say that having heard the details of the proposal – and the stated intent there of – I feel somewhat more comfortable with it.
For me, an important takeaway from the meeting was the thoughtfulness and willingness to listen demonstrated by every member of the EPRC while faced with a roomful of their peers; us! I thought their own process in response to our input was by turns careful, spirited, honest – and thanks to the valiant efforts of their Chairman – effective at reaching an actionable conclusion.
They will delay their decision for a month while seeking further public input on changes to the area around this very important community center.
Thank you, EPRC.
