Saturday, November 11, 7 – 10 p.m., Doe Bay Resort
— from Ever Kipp for Doe Bay Music —
Seattle orchestral folk duo March to May will be performing at the Doe Bay Resort on November 11. They have a new LP called Through the Night out now via Northbound Records.
“With its cello and harp, it is instrumented like a somber Decemberists’ tune but the songwriting is more akin to bands like Shovels and Rope. The storytelling is dark and their vocal harmonies are rich. What more could you ask for?” – Surviving the Golden Age
Written while the band explored the wilds of their homeland – from cliffs high above Puget Sound, to a historic steamship, to tucked away cabins on remote islands – the songs on Through the Night are all deeply influenced by the Pacific Northwest’s natural environment.
“March to May weave beautiful tales that will steal your breath away.” – The Revue
“Draws comparisons to The Civil Wars, Damien Rice, and the Lumineers, while possessing a shimmering radiance all its own. The perfect morning-after anecdote.” – Goldmine
