The Orcas Island Chamber of Commerce is thrilled to announce this year’s Fourth of July Weekend schedule of events.
This year’s theme is “All Together Now” recognizing and celebrating the ties that bind our small island community together. Get ready for a great weekend of family-friendly fun!

The weekend kicks off on Independence Day itself with the Annual Community Picnic & Market on the Village Green. Festivities begin with the Firecracker 5K Fun Run at 9am in the morning. The picnic starts at noon. This year’s event is sure to be bigger and better than ever featuring some of your favorite island food and market vendors, the ever-popular cake walk, a Kidsville activity tent, beer and wine, the chili cook-off and pie baking contest, and an incredible line-up of music with island darlings Baker & West going on stage at 3 p.m., local phenoms The Studz at 5 p.m., and nationally renowned Grateful Dead tribute band Cosmic Charlie playing from 7 p.m. until 9:30 p.m.

Fireworks will be at dusk over Fishing Bay.

Registration forms for the chili cook off, pie baking contest, and parade can be found in the Chamber’s weekly newsletter, at the office, or you can register online through the Chamber’s website. Parade registration closes

Thursday, July 4
• The big day begins at the Village Green with the Firecracker 5K Fun Run sponsored by the OI Chamber of Commerce.
• From 11 to 7 p.m., enjoy the following in the Village Green: Community Picnic and Market with food and retail vendors; cake walk; chili cook-off; pie baking contest; kids activities; beer & wine.
• The main event is live music on the Green with Baker & West, The Studz, and Cosmic Charlie from 3 to 9:30 p.m.
• At dusk, the fireworks will begin.

Saturday, July 6
• Orcas Island Fire and Rescue pancake breakfast from 7 to 11 a.m. followed by the annual community parade at noon. After that, enjoy the Lion’s Club Salmon BBQ from 4 to 7 p.m. and The Children’s House Eastsound Mayoral election results.

Sunday, July 7
• The American Legion Annual Pig Roast starts at 4 p.m. Orcas Center Summer Concert series featuring Jens Lindemann Live on the Village Green is at 5 p.m.
