Newly hired Interim Executive Director Margaret (Margie) Doyle took the helm at Orcas Center on November 1.
“The Board is extremely pleased to have such a well-known, respected and enthusiastic person as Margie heading up the Center during this important transition” said Orcas Center Board President, Tom Fiscus. Under her contract with the Board she will fill the interim position while the Board of Trustees conducts a search for a new permanent Executive Director.
The Board expects to make available its revised position description for the Executive Director job together with an announcement of the application process within the next two weeks. The Board will conduct a regional search seeking applications from qualified individuals using various print and online services as well as list serves of the Washington Council on the Arts and Arts Northwest.
Members of the local community are encouraged to apply. Other local community members willing to serve on the screening and selection committees are encouraged to advise the Board of their interest by email sent to johnbric@orcascenter.org.
