The Orcas Island Community Church Celebrates their 125th anniversary. The Funhouse will host an Open House for all parents of Middle School and High School students on Friday, October 2 at 5 p.m.
Orcas Island Historical Museum will host a Closing Party (celebrating their year-round opening) from 4-6 p.m. Tour the museum, snack on delicious finger-foods, listen to entertaining music, help press apples and make cider, and enjoy the traditional festivities.
Roller skating begins 6:30 p.m. with Beginners skate at the Orcas Island Middle School Gym. $2 includes skate rental. No street skates allowed.
“Wood” show opening reception beginning at 5:30 p.m. at the Orcas Center Gallery throughout the month of October. The invitational show includes the work of many “Fine Craftsman” and you can meet the artists at the show’s reception.
LeRoy Bell and His Only Friends at the Orcas Center, Bell has an impressive songwriting career, writing for such notable artists as Elton John (the Grammy-nominated Mama Can’t Buy You Love), The O’Jays, The Temptations, and Johnny Mathis. With his band of veteran musicians, Bell has shared the stage with Lila Downs, B. B. King, and Taj Mahal, among others, delivering his own brand of soulful funk, jazz and rock. Orcas Island Farmers’ Market Moves Indoors to the Oddfellows Hall starting October 3.for every Saturday in October, as well as November 7 & 21. The hours are from 11 a.m. – 2 p.m., and there will be farmers, crafters and food.

Family Dance Party from 5:30 – 7:30 pm at Odd Fellows Hall. Dancing for all, light refreshments available for purchase, along with glow-necklaces and inflatable “guitars” Proceeds will be split between Kaleidoscope, Children’s House, Salmonberry School, and Orcas Montessori School.
