The Board of Fire Commissioners held a streamlined, smooth special meeting on Wednesday, October 27 to a small audience of, in addition to OIFR staff, one attendee who came out for the late-evening meeting.
Discussion Items:
- Acting Fire Chief Scott Williams submitted a Memo of Understanding regarding his current employment status for renewal.
- An Inter-local Agreement was slated for discussion, but a copy has not been received from the County.
- Acting Chief Williams presented a first draft of projections on the 2017 Operating Budget.
The next meeting of the Fire Commission is scheduled for November 7 at 5:30 p.m.

The first draft of the 2017 budget was presented with the following: revenues $2,337.523.
Expenditures : $2328.09
Everything was presented except for the Operatons budget of $1,0006.080. as that includes the paramedics
pay but they are still negotiating new terms of their contract . I express my concerns to the Board about the lack of funding for reserve which takes care of emergency expenditures. They need to know what their cash assets will be by the end of the year. They are also looking at a $290,000. Payment for social security benefits that have not been made for quite a few years now, hopefully there is a payment plan for such oversight.
