The annual Historical Days celebration brought unending opportunities for smiles on Saturday, July 2 in the village of Eastsound.

Orcas Island 4-H took First Prize in the Chamber of Commerce annual parade, where the Community  band entertained parade watchers. At the Village Green, the weekly Farmers Market craft and  food vendors, nonprofits and buskers entertained the throngs.

Over to the side, visitors were fascinated by the annual Harvey Family Logging show, and, as always, the Pie Sale by the Historical Museum was a very tasty spot.

A new mayor for Eastsound was crowned announced. Read that whole hot political story HERE.

Weather played a role in the day’s events, too, as a gust of wind blew over a tent at the Farmers Market. Islanders rushed to help and the rescuers  received a round of applause.
