A Grief Recovery Group will begin meeting on Tuesday, March 15 and will continue meeting for six weeks from 7-8:30 PM ending on April 19. The meetings will take place upstairs in the parish hall of Emmanuel Episcopal Church and will be facilitated by Dr. Fountiene Prince.

This experience is educational and is intended for anyone who has experienced a significant loss (such as the loss of a loved one through death or divorce,loss of familiar life functioning due to illness, injury or job loss). There is no charge.

Participants will explore the normal grief response and will have the opportunity to meet with others who are also experiencing loss. Each meeting will include teaching some aspect of the grief process and will be followed by sharing and discussion. Topics will include:

  • Awareness of the grief process
  • Physical and emotional reactions to grief
  • How relationships are affected by grief
  • Strategies for coping with grief
  • Reinvesting one’s energy…building a future

After the second meeting on Mar. 22 it will not be possible to admit new participants. Call Emmanuel Parish at 376-2352 to reserve a place in the group.
