Deputy responded to a hit and run on Henry Road, Eastsound. Evidentiary items were collected and a report was taken.

A Camano Island man cited for Passing in a No Passing Zone on Lopez Island as he was trying to get to a departing ferry. The offense occurred after the scheduled departure time of the ferry to Anacortes.

February 25, a Lopez Island resident called the sheriff’s office regarding the noise from engines racing in the wee hours of the morning. A deputy located its source- a nearby neighbor “mud bogging” with motors racing on his property. The subject agreed to quit for the night. Peace was restored.
16-000997 Suspicious Person/Circumstance 14:03:22 02/25/16
A Deputy responded to the 3000 block of Mud Bay Road, Lopez Island for a suspicious circumstance complaint. The reporting person turned over several items which were believed to be potentially stolen. The items were forwarded to detectives. The investigation continues.
16-000999 Suspicious Person/Circumstance 14:18:49 02/25/16
Deputies responded to a report of an intoxicated male subject confronting citizens in a violent manner in Eastsound. The subject was located and detained. It was determined the subject was mentally ill and intoxicated, which required a mental health evaluation.

Deputies responded to continuing dog barking in Eastsound, the owner was located and cited for violating the noise ordinance.
16-001001 Fraud 15:50:06 02/25/16
A resident came to the Sheriff’s Office to file a fraud report. Her credit card information had been stolen and used fraudulently at 3 different locations. She was assisted with the proper paperwork and given prevention information.

An Eastsound resident reported being a possible victim of identity theft. It is unknown if the person has been a victim at this point.
16-001004 Domestic Dispute or Assault 21:11:05 02/25/16
A Deputy responded to a Lopez Island residence for an assault complaint involving a man and wife. The investigation revealed no physical evidence that an assault occurred and subjects agreed to separate for the night. The case has been forwarded for review and possible criminal prosecution.

An Orcas resident called to report a missing piece of jewelry that hasn’t been seen for several months. A report was requested.
16-001016 Wanted Person 12:51:13 02/26/16
A Deputy in Friday Harbor contacted a person that had a warrant. The subject was arrested and was booked into the San Juan County Jail.

A Deputy responded to Beverly Lane, Lopez Island, WA for a criminal trespass complaint on 02/27/16. The involved landlord and tenant have had an on-going rental agreement dispute. Both subjects agreed to stay off each other’s property or face possible criminal prosecution. No further action was taken.

A woman called requesting to meet at the Lopez Substation regarding the release of personal property. I arrived at the station 5 minutes later. No one waiting there. I also checked the library with no luck. I waited 30 minutes, and no one ever showed up.

Friday Harbor apartment resident reported a car in the parking lot, with the driver passed out, foot on the gas, motor running. Deputies arrived and the driver was arrested and processed for Physical Control of Motor Vehicle while Intoxicated.

February 29, a Lopez Island woman reported receiving a string of telephone calls from different numbers today asking for her preteen daughter by name. The adult males hung up when learning the girl was so young. The case is under investigation.

The Sheriff’s Office in Friday Harbor was called for a hit and run collision. The driver and the vehicle were not located. This case is still under investigation.
16-001086 Mental Health 12:13:50 03/01/16
A Deputy received a report of a possible suicidal juvenile on Lopez Island. It was determined that the juvenile was in a safe place and not in immediate danger. A plan was made between the juvenile’s parent and appropriate officials to monitor the juvenile.
16-001094 Trespassing 18:10:25 03/01/16
Deputies responded to the Area of Argyle to investigate a report of a suspicious person. Deputies contacted the suspect moments later and found the person had an outstanding warrant for Residential Burglary. The suspect was placed in custody and booked into the San Juan County Holding facility pending transport

Deputy was on routine patrol when I noticed two vehicles parked partially in the roadway at the intersection of Terrill Beach Road and Mt. Baker Road.
It would help if ALL the reports clearly identified which island is being referred to. It seems that currently most are but some are not. Thanks.
